What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a millennia’s old form of working with the body’s subtle energy systems. Mapped by ancient Taoist physicians, these energy systems are only recently being studied in the west, however their use and application in healing and vitality have been growing exponentially here since the early 1970’s.
Using thin filiform single-use needles, acupuncture seeks to balance, redirect and remove obstructions in energy flow. Freeing up energy in the body allows the body’s natural wisdom to balance, heal and overcome disharmony and pain, increasing function and well-being.
While there can sometimes be slight discomfort with needling, most people (even teenagers!) find any sensation very tolerable, relaxing deeply soon after the insertion.
