I’m so glad you’ve found me!
I began my journey with Chinese Medicine first as a patient. With chronic migraines, I felt I had exhausted what the western medicine model had to offer (and it wasn’t helping anyway). After a few months of regular acupuncture treatment my head was better, my digestion much smoother and I noticed an increase in my sense of calm and body awareness. I had found true body/mind/spirit medicine and that is what led me to study it.
I’m a classically trained acupuncturist and use the entire channel system, much of which is not taught in schools today. The channels/meridians are a guide, a roadmap and a compass to living a life in harmony with the earth, with our fellow humans and with the great intention of our life. What a joy it is to share my love and reverence for them!
As an acupuncturist, it is my privilege and duty to honor the wisdom of Chinese Medicine by implementing it into my own life first. I’ve been a practitioner of meditation for over 20 years which has a huge impact on how I walk in this world. I also practice and continue to learn Chinese Dietary energetics and apply them in my own life. Unlike the latest trends and fad diets, this wisdom is thousands of years old and continues to be a bedrock of vitality for many around the globe.
My current study is within the breadth and depth of Qi Gong and Taoist meditation! The practices are specially helpful in regulating the nervous system, women’s cycles and managing chronic pain.
My Approach to Illness
What we might consider a pathology, feeling sick or unwell, may simply be the most valiant effort of the body to do the best it can with the resources it has. Have you ever looked back at a mistake or a difficult life lesson and wondered, “how could I have chosen something different based on what I knew at the time?” The body is similar and therefore I see no mistakes of this precious vehicle, only adaptations. Over time these adaptations become “pathology”. But with our tender awareness and willingness to examine what our body’s cues are telling us, we can make the shift from pain, imbalance and disharmony to efficient and elegant. All done with respect and compassion.
